Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
All students at Millgate have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The EHCP is fundamental to the individual provision and support that students at Millgate School are offered.
Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Each student has an IEP focusing on four EHCP outcomes per academic year. The IEP sets out what support the student will need in order to make progress towards their EHCP outcomes so that we can ensure that appropriate and targeted support is offered. For each outcome, students’ progress will be graded as one of the following:
- Beginning
- Developing
- Securing
- mastering
Every term the Tutor Team will review progress towards each of the four outcomes and update the IEP to reflect this. Additional support and resources can be sought through the SEND Lead and Intervention Team as appropriate.
Annual Review Meetings
You will be invited to attend your child’s Annual Review meeting once a year. The meeting will be chaired by either the SEND Lead or your child’s Class Teacher.
In the meeting, you can discuss with staff how they are progressing towards meeting their EHCP outcomes. Following the meeting, the EHCP will be updated to reflect any significant changes in need or provision. Other professionals who are working with the child will also be invited to attend and contribute to the annual review meeting.
