EPIC Psychology Service
At Millgate School, we have access to support from the EPIC Psychology service, which offers the school comprehensive psychological support, including access to our own Link Educational Psychologist (EP), Dr Mel Shirley.
The EP can work with school staff, pupils, and families to nurture wellbeing, uncover barriers to learning, and raise achievement.
The EP can support the school to identify students’ needs, offer intervention and training so that everyone within the school community can better support mental health and inclusion.
EPIC services can be:
- Used when staff have concerns about a child’s needs
- Accessed through SENCo involvement
- Linked to:
- EHCP work
- annual reviews
- specialist advice
- Staff Training
In most cases, the school will identify a student who may need additional EP support, and we will then seek your permission to complete a referral to the EP service.
Alternatively, if you feel that your child would benefit from additional EP support, please speak to the SEND Lead, who can discuss this further with you.
